NIHR Open Data Award HRCS Health Categories Coding and Apportionment

Health Research Classification System (HRCS) is a bespoke system for classifying the full spectrum of biomedical and health research – from basic to applied – across all areas of health and disease.

During the application process, we aim to determine the proportion it is aligned to HRCS by:

  • Health Categories - the topic or disease of interest

  • Research Activities - the type of research

This table also acts as a lookup table for the Consolidated View dataset.

The dataset is updated quarterly, and the data in this edition is up to date as of the 31st December 2023.
