We award more than \u00a3606 million of funding per year to\nworld leading NHS organisations and academic institutions with a proven,\ninternational track record in health and care research. The funding awards are\nsignificant multi-million-pound investments. Our significant and sustained\nresearch infrastructure funding supports the country\u2019s leading experts in\nworld-class research organisations.

NIHR\nresearch infrastructure funding provides a platform to enable research, acting\nas a targeted and strategic investment to create an environment where early\nstage and applied research can thrive. Our research infrastructure provides\nresearch expertise, specialist facilities, a research delivery workforce and\nsupport services which all help to support and deliver the research we fund,\nand research funded by others. Research funded by UK Research and Innovation\n(UKRI), medical research charities, the life sciences industry\n(biopharmaceuticals, medtech, genomics, diagnostics and digital health), and\nother relevant industries all benefit from the network of services and support\nthat we provide.

This\nis an NIHR research infrastructure dataset and excludes the Research Delivery\nNetwork (RDN). The dataset is accurate as of the end of the 2024/25 financial\nyear and is updated annually. It shows studies supported by the Applied Health\nand Social Care Research Collaborations (ARCs), Biomedical Research Centres\n(BRCs), Clinical Research Facilities (CRFs), Medtech and In vitro diagnostics\nCo-operatives (MICs),\u00a0Healthtech Research Centres (HRCs) which have replaced\u00a0MICs from 2024/25\u00a0and Patient Safety Research Collaborations (PSRCs). Projects\nappear as duplicates if they have been reported by multiple Infrastructure\nCentres in multiple years. Using this dataset, users can search for\nprojects that were supported by the abovementioned NIHR Infrastructure schemes\nby financial year.\u00a0
